There are of course many interpretations to Adventure Travel, a significant and growing niche tourism segment, though it is universally understood as a concept of active vacations built around physical activities such as kayaking or softer forms such as bird watching as a form of recreation, usually pertaining to nature and a foreign country.

There are also no limits nowadays to the extremes some of these travels may take people as it is most often associated with words such as adrenaline, excitement, extreme sports, great outdoors, the unknown, the out of the ordinary... basically not your regular sit-on-the-beach and read-a-book type of travel.
